On April 5, 2025, Phu My Hung security guards discovered an individual using pliers to cut electrical wires in the public green space near Happy Valley. When approached and instructed to stop, the suspect immediately fled onto Nguyen Van Linh Parkway, heading toward the Canh Doi area.
Phu My Hung security guards quickly pursued and apprehended the suspect at the base of Thay Tieu 1 Bridge. The individual later confessed to cutting and stealing electrical wires and landscape lighting equipment in the area. Items recovered at the scene included two light bulbs and approximately eight meters of severed electrical wire. The suspect and evidence were turned over to the Tan Phong Ward Police for further investigation.
At the police station, the suspect identified himself as B.Đ.T.L, born in 1978, residing in Tan Quy Ward, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City. He stated that he had walked from Tan My Market into Phu My Hung with the intention of committing the theft.
